yo remember that time you deleted the public discord because you were mad that someone you didn't like got promoted and then went on a multiple week campaign to attack a multiplayer server because of a little grudge over a mod that wasn't even majority yours
Haven't you been banned for over a year at this point? It strikes me as a hard think when you say that staff is evil and biased yet you have been banned for recent history. Oh they're only corrupt because you don't like them. :^) 2/10 if honest 7/10 if bait.
11/10, best roleplay server I've ever experienced.
Short-Factor, veteran on GC since the Outpost Bar & Grill when the server was conceived many years ago. Some people can sometimes be hard to get along with, but we're all a family here. A very, very dysfunctional family, but everyone is relatively easy to get along with. We have very creative people here and amazing events. One person in particular is a man named PrivateNomad. The man is a lore and event genius, making great strides to improve the general playerbase and the overall quality of the server. The hubs are fantastic and have only improved over the years. The newest one, Haven and its districts, are structural works of art.
If you love Starbound RP, this is absolutely the place to go.
First thing, take the test. It's gotten so much better over the years, and kind of forces you to become immersed in the world before you can act in it. A good system. Once you get the info, if you haven't logged onto a server before, or need some help, ask any of the staff in the Discord. They are all very helpful.
When first starting out, if you aren't willing to watch people play and learn that way, as I did, then you ought to ask questions. Even if you do, expect to get some things wrong and be corrected. This is normal, you're new. There's a lot of common sense rules that are never written anywhere that you just have to learn by doing, and sometimes learning from mistakes. I like that this is the case quite a bit, because the more effort you put in to rp, to ask questions, and discuss topics ooc that are totally unrelated to rp, the more integrated with the GC community you become.
The more I put into it, the less it became about trying to rp, and enjoy myself that way, and the more it became conversing with friends, making new friends, sharing memes and cute pictures, and all around enjoying the community. I still rp on occasion, and it's always fun when I do, no matter how slow.
So, to those saying that this community isn't welcoming: honestly, you have to welcome yourself. Learn the lingo, join in discussions, make friends by hanging around and talking with people. GC is a long-term commitment. And, it's worth it.
And hey. You need help starting out, or whatever, come ask me. "Blight" on the Discord.
Hi! A group of friends and I attempted to join this server tonight- specifically myself and two others.
We were not greeted when we came into the discord, and we were not greeted when we came into the server. I read the forums- all the rules, all the guides- and I had no idea where to begin. All I saw when I came into the discord was like three people talking about weed or something.
Instead, after 12 or so minutes, I was kicked from the discord. My friend was kicked out before 10 minutes, before he could even speak in the chat, and all he saw was that they didn't know who we were so we got an automatic kick I guess.
Bad server for a first attempt at serious Starbound RP.
I've been playing couple of weeks on this server and I can finally come to a conclusion myself.
It's my personal opinion, speaking from experience and I wish it to remain that way.
I know for a fact that it's not something I will be coming back to any time soon.
It's pretty bad. It's a bit meme filled and most of it is on discord, that's to be expected anyway. Community isn't too good either, there's a lot of drama, a lot of name calling and a lot of pretty childish stuff going on and forums are best example of that. RP itself is not really enjoyable as most of it is just bar RP or CRP. There's no real sense of progression there. Custom races while some of them are OK, some are overpowered and just not something that I would rather deal with. Staff can also be nice but only so much. Grading system for tech is alright I guess. Atleast it has some diversity and isn't as strict as other servers I've been trying out. Some RP'ers are nice as well and can be very fun to RP with. There was some guy playing apex which I don't recall name of, who takes some time to reply, but oh boy, he's so good and really creative. Shame he's wasting himself on this server though.
Overall, I just don't think it's a good place for a serious RP. It's a good server for some starting ground, to get a grip on what RP really is. That is, if you manage to learn something since they seem to get a bit annoyed if you do anything wrong and start saying "Get out, it's RP server" instead of helping get used to RP. All in all - it's meh. It has it's ups, has it's downs. Sadly more downs than ups, but eh, I suppose you can't have nice things. My advice? Try something else if you want RP experience. Don't ask me what though, I am still in search myself..
Did I say anything about the pipeline? No. No I fucking didn't. The sum total of what I said is that the argument of "LOL OIL IS TOO FAR DOWN FRACKING CHEMICALS CAN'T POSSIBLY COME BACK UP" is horseshit and I backed up why.
I didn't even say that fracking chemicals are coming back up, just that it's
There will be war in the streets of Galaxy Citizen. Things have been engineered that way.
The scenarios are many, the issues are complex. The current anger from the left, who are violently protesting against Drakkar, is just one aspect of it.
But the Staff and the GC security structure is increasingly looking towards the shifting demographics around the game– people have moved from small rp, and shifted into megaservers. Where ever conflict stirs, there will be a need for military and SWAT response to the call. Entire servers will be locked down; client to client sweeps will often have violent ends.
Boundstar could be brought home to the streets of Galaxy Citizen, and the staff already knows it.
The powers that be are deeply concerned about the unfolding situations with server migrants, LUA animators, potential terrorists, political factions, protests, griefing and discord riots.
Increasingly, they are training for and expecting a homegrown conflict that will call for them to restore order in their forum – and even hunt down suspects thread to thread, like in the Boston Marathon bombing incident, while making some significant infringement of our conesnt rights.
During the past several years, there have been reports about unannounced cyber security drills in major starbound servers; there have also been coinintelpro training scenarios that have maintained a consistent theme of civil unrest, economic breakdown and widespread shitposting.
I played on this server for several years and i enjoyed my time on it. I enjoyed the casual roleplay for a long time which helped develop me in to a better roleplayer and writer. The main reason i moved away from this server was for more serious and immersive roleplay. But the server is still a great, fun place to hang out with some nice casual roleplay.
I would love to join up your server, but your website appears to be down, so I can't find any way to locate your rules or the server password. Can you point me in the right direction? :) I would have PM'd you, but I don't see that option on this site.
I just wanted to address Apple's comment about ILoveBacons. Firstly this will not be a pissing match nor will we be "slinging mud" at you.
Firstly this so called "popularity contest" is a lie. We only promote modders who want to show their creations and works of art. We provide a secure place for modders to grow their talents in a healthy way. Some modders like competition while others enjoy helping each other out. We provide a place of comfort for modders who can express their healthy work without bashing them.
We accept their work as long as they do not lag, do not crash, nor offend and does not kill players in protected environments. We apologize that one of our clients have stolen any items from you. We do not promote nor condone that. I understand what it is like to be a modder and a moderator. Please do not slander us. We are not all theives. The majority of us are not.
As for our clients we provide a very warm welcoming community as long as they are welcoming to us. We get many players a day, mostly new ones. Curious and trying to understand what servers are. We provide the first look of what someone's game CAN be. When their time is finished and they have seen all they have wanted we simply say goodbye and that we welcome their next arrival.
I am not perfect, nor is anyone. Have I made mistakes? Yes. Have I learned from them? Yes. That is how we are as people. We make mistakes and we grow. Our modders are scared of sharing knowledge of their work due to the fact of one bad incident. I do not fear that. I simply wish to see my work grow and become something far greater. So far we have achieved alot. Our community has grown so much. Our modders have a far greater expanded knowledge than they used to.
We will not slander you based on first impressions. We give second chances and even third chances. If you could give us a chance we will show you that we are kind, we are strong and we will help you in anyway we can.
I have experienced Galaxy Citizen and I have had a few bad encounters but that will not stop me from letting people into their community because I know they are great too. They want what is best for their community and their people. I wish there was no feud or rivalry because honestly I believe we all can make Starbound a better place. Thank you.
Angelus, proud staff member of ILoveBacons and a proud community "experiencer". Not promoting, just giving back our word to Apple.
With all do respect, isn't this better suited as a nested comment, on the one you are taking issue with? I understand that the comment came from a GC user, but no where in the comment were they referring to GC it was a comment directed at ILB, regarding a perceived issue with ILB, and posted to a comment thread about ILB.
Apple is a very well respected and important person to GC. She is an Admin. She basically is a representative of GC. This is why I posted it here. This was not an ordinary user who slandered us so i decided to address this. I hope there will be no further conflict in this.
Galaxy Citizen... What can I sat about this place so full of promise and so lacking in basic sense?
You see... I actually kind of like Galaxy Citizen. It is not Serenity by any means, but it has some unique little fixtures unique to its community. Its art, its lore, and some of its players and characters easily reach the same rp quality I am used to other server sites. It would be great... It would be a legitimate place on the 3rd place mantle of Starbound servers if it did not have such glaring ISSUES.
Since you are likely going to be reading this review if you are a prospective member, its important you know what you might be getting into before you actually get too connected to this place.
One of the main issues the server has is its open policy. Its very easy to go in, look over the rules, get your password and account information, and then jump in immediately. GC does not use whitelists. Their reasoning for this is freedom based, which is understandable. If you have a character idea ahead of time and don't want to spend time filling out bio information, you can just jump in! If people were mature and we lived in a utopian society this would work fine! But for all the shrill cries of 'freedom, freedom, freedom!' that the GC staff cries out, the truth of the matter is that ANARCHY is much more common. GC is a griefer's playground, and I mean that in the WORST way.
The staff cannot even handle these problems. They weather out the storm battered and bruised as every form of assault hits their server, HOPING that it will eventually go away. Particle effects that get spammed constantly by dicks LAG the server to near unplayable levels. Crippling griefer based items are sneakily put into player inventories by invisible pricks, literally corrupting player files to the point where SBSE and Starcheat cannot help you. Status effects caused by custom items harass and interrupt rp and regular play. The administrators don't run this place. When malicious griefers come around, its THEIR game at YOUR expense.
But no. There is no whitelisting or extra security measures like giving contact information only to trusted players through pm from staff. See... That would be dictatorial. So instead of having your play interrupted by extra security at the beginning, you get interrupted for indefinite periods of time from indefinite moments by random people who can just walk in. GC takes pride in the fact they can still withstand against constant attacks from griefers. I ask why tolerate it at all?
But you might be wondering about what the circumstances are like when griefers decide not to pillage and rape the server like norsemen along the British coast? Its still not without its problems. Although Chucklefish can be blamed partially for the multiplayer instability, along with GC's open policy of people, they also welcome custom items and even mods. The site has a server mod for use, but people still bring in their custom and unique items in large numbers. Since the server itself does not necessarily support these items means nothing. It works... Barely. The feedback issues and lag generated from all these problems means that the server is never on for more than 30 minutes at a time. I know for a fact that this isn't an issue with some other servers I have been apart of. Serenity can hold 20-30 players at a time without going through a stroke. Although it too crashes, its usually hourly, and its usually based on unstable mods like Frackin universe, which is a fixable issue. Since the admins don't want to address their own player base, their issue is not.
And that is the major problem with GC in general. Its so desperate to please its player base, so desperate to not take responsibility for ANYTHING that it lets these problems get WAY too out of hand. A lot of these issues I brought up are preventable. And yet, they still persist. This is not a small problem that has only recently come up either. A year ago I went to GC to try it out back in Koala days, and nothing has improved since the past couple months I have rped here when I returned a year or so later.
As for other complaints like rp and power gaming... I can honestly admit my experience there has largely been positive. its why I want to like this server in the first place. That doesn't mean I haven't heard of issues in that regard, but I was not exposed to them.
I didn't want to spew so much anger into this review... I wasn't going to list GC's problems and strengths calmly and let you decide if its worth coming here. That was out of the window when a character I made with several hours of honest gameplay on him is of now, irreversibly corrupted.
So in closing... Go to Antares. Go to Serenity. Heck, go to BACON if you just like to play the game without rp. These servers are more stable, more professionally run, and more secure. Until GC somehow gets its act together, its not worth your time.
Its been a couple days since certain events occurred. I am now much calmer. Problems were fixable with some shenanigans, and now, I pop in occasionally to play still.
Does that mean the regular problems that plague this place have gone away? No. Most certainly not. And there will be another griefer attack one day. However, there is something allowing me to keep coming back as my secondary server. Take that as you will I suppose.
I've spent hundreds of hours playing on this server and so I suppose I may as well review it.
Unfortunately, like many servers, there is a large amount of segregation between the people who know how to edit drawables and the people who do not, as someone once pointed out it's almost like a "cult". Its unfortunate that such things are often hidden from people saying that they "cannot trust them" or "Eww gross NSFW drawable!" ect ect while the benefits outweigh immensely, for every "NSFW drawable" (Which is hilarious given the server's notorious reputation for ERP...) there are tons of valuable creations such as cups, cigarettes, PDAs and more which can be used to greatly increase the quality of roleplay even if its just as a small thing to talk about. Its blatantly obvious that they will only share such information with others that are in their inner circle. Personally, despite being biased since I clearly value freedom of information, I have little-to-no interest in the drawables themselves nor the secrets and programs of creating such, however the impact of such a small portion of our community using such items to shun others and follow the "Be the best and only hang out with the best" is slowly creating a divide in our community and as such, killing off some possibilities of further growth. Keep in mind, not all the people with access of drawables or the knowledge to make them are cruel, in fact, a lot of them end up creating drawables for others which is rather heartwarming to say the least, but is always short-lived as they give up with the influx of requests, yet there are also other admins that would suppress the freedom of information and equality, even go as far as to make their own little rules against it, further promoting the division. Personally, I'd rather we just got rid off all the drawables and server compatible modding shiz and all be seen as equals [InsertMartinLutherKingHere], but sadly I know this will never happen so there is always going to be a divide to some extent. BUT to be fair, other servers such as Boundstar suffer from the same problems ( Hell, they are probably far worse off ).
Secondly staff.. As stated above, while a lot can by heavily biased and at times even childish, they are generally the best, kindest and most considerate group of staff that one could ever hope for. Sure they don't always do a good job, maybe a /little/ trigger happy on the bans, but I find that this is one of the few servers where the staff go the extra mile to keep in touch with the needs and desires of the community. They are usually very fun people to talk to and excellent roleplayers. Asides the obvious downside of most of them being elitists, if you look over that, they are very keen to help people, extremely adequate at reviewing race and character apps as well as settling disputes, but are most importantly awesome people who pledge a large stake in the community and work tirelessly to improve it, such as the race apps, character apps, databases and more which are just ****ing amazing.
And most importantly the actual roleplay.. I've played on Antares before, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out which group of people are more skilled at roleplay, this is probably because admins are a lot more lenient and allow for a lot of creativity and often monitor such will applications. Because of lenience on cloning and races, sure there are often more powergaming and godmodding than there needs to be BUT it also means people have more ability to express themselves and roleplay as characters that previously would have been impossible to roleplay as, this is the one thing I like most about the server, that above all else, the lore may seem to be based on starbound dev cannon, but truly it is based on the spirit and heart of the community it has worked to tirelessly to create. Additionally, the rumours about ERPers are preeety much true, about half of the people I've encountered just wanna ERP themselves to death, but this is allowed providing it's kept strictly to player's ships in worldchat, which is fair enough ( Especially since the poor admins put up with this being in the logs :P ) but if you don't like the idea that some of the people only wanting to talk to your character 'cos they wanna bang, bugger off, there are plenty of other servers that scream all hell against it ( Another fine example of the bizarre and beautiful lenience and tolerance this server has ).
All and all, if you are looking to be a major player in the community, wish to get recognition or fame STOP; unless you wish to plow hundreds or hours in chatrooms talking up elitists, don't even bother. BUT if you wish to have an enjoyable, relaxing time with a heartwarmingly kind and open community, then by all means, spend your free time here and enjoy yourselves. Sure there are many bad sides to this server and it's community, but in the end of the day, there is ( If I may be so bold as to say ) some of the most amazing, enjoyable and meaningful roleplay is found in this server and even some of the greatest friends, this is how, in my honest opinion, I believe roleplay should be done, not only participation in a roleplaying community, but to be lost inside it, immersed in a group of friendly people who are ( Mostly ) here for the same reasons as you. If you don't accept the ideals and values of this server, then that is understandable, what it lacks there are plenty of other servers that make up for it, but if you feel you wish to join for what good it does offer then by all means, I bet you will find yourself pleasantly surprised.
If you're looking for character progression I would move on, they have disabled any form of in game character progression, in this server. I found myself stuck on the starter planet unable to cut down any tress, and unable to cut vines for bandages, totally killed my RP experience.
I've tried playing on this server, but it crashes too much for me to really get any enjoyment off of it. i'll try my luck with one of the other RP servers. cause this one seems to stay down for 30 minutes at a time, and only stays up for about 5 minutes or less.
A horrible RP server. ERPers run amuck in search of pixelated floran breasts, death is rarely permanent (respawning happens nearly every time a person dies), nobody knows how to roleplay properly due to the lack of whitelist, and the worst part?
The server is almost constantly down due to persistant griefing. As I write this, the server is said to have been griefed constantly for the past week alone. If you want a safe, quality server to RP in, I reccomend Antares.
Total and utter bullshit about ERP thing, coming from a player who RP's on GC for a long time. It's another hate post that everyone should avoid even reading. Nothing is perfect and neither GC or Antares is (I have tried both servers).
Don't play smartass when you're on server that has shitload of requirements to even start playing on it, because this is first thing I've disliked about antares- being forced to write a wall of text to even start playing and being unable to create story on the go, just like I do on GC.
Hello, I am wishing to enter this server, and I have followed all advice to get the password, I even made a forum account, but nowhere can I find a quiz to get the password. Please send very specific instructions on how to access the quiz, thank you!
Recently, I've been getting targeted by Dirtburner and a few other admins for what seems like 'bannable' reasons.
-I know I'm being a bit too aggressive over people not using planet chat or forgetting to switch.
-Advertising a server, which is ABANDONED.
-Being rude to an admin.
I've lost interest over the server through being banned from the online chatroom. It feels to be as if I've been singled out and targeted. I understand that Dirtburner is barely patient enough to wait for someone to use planet chat after forgetting. She could have been kinder, instead of using capital letters. This is the reason why I am taking a break from this particular server for a while. I've always enjoyed roleplaying with the people on this server, but lately...it's gotten too cold in the rules. A 1 hour ban in the chat should suffice as a good warning. Dirtburner, if you're reading this, then I'm sorry about what I did. Hopefully you can forgive me.
Also, I've been on a different server for a bit to get re-accustomed to non-roleplay servers, but it felt...confusing and like a newer world at first. Been so long! Jesus!
This is most likely due to greifing, or certain planets being reset for roleplaying/food reasons.
Galaxy Citizen often gets a few greifers now and then. It's a pain to see people destroy wonderful buildings, such as Horsebutt and the spawn cafe and gas station.
I've played Galaxy Citizen for quiet sometime now. I've probably spent about 200 hours or more playing it. But lately I've noticed that people get banned over the silliest things, like the inability to switch into planet chat upon logging in and accidentally sending one message and then fixing it after words. If you do it, it is super "Terrible" and it is bannable...also the fact that I got told after words that they have to "clean up my mess" I don't see a mess....I see a forgetful mind that fixes the problem a few seconds after. (I don't join the server and then talk a bunch and then ignore the admins. I literally log in, go to planet then say "Hey" to some one in universal then I notice that I need to switch so I switch and I even say "Sorry" to people that tell me to switch) I've never once griefed, back talked an admin, etc. But I got banned for something as silly as that.
Just throwing this warning out to anyone that wants to play this server "Forgetful Minds Are Terrible People And Will Be Banned For Being Forgetful" So if your slightly forgetful and tend to forget to switch to planet chat right away, there isn't a point in playing this server, because you most likely will be screenshotted after a little bit and then be banned for it.
There is also other problems with this server, like that fact that it goes down constantly (I've had the server go down, more then 30 times in a day) The server runs very badly a lot of the time, it's super laggy and sometimes it's just unbearable. (Seems like who ever runs this server doesn't have a decent enough pc to run it properly) Because I've played plenty of other servers where there wasn't tons of lag and the server didn't go down all the time. I'm starting how this is the number one server....there are so many better servers, with better admins, etc. etc. There should be a thumbs down option so I can rate this down, upon with other people that dislike this server.
Ah I see, I've never seen that post till now....that is so stupid .-. if that's the only way they can get votes because hell I would voted just because I want 100$ worth of steam games for free, another server should have won though.... -.- Who got #1 last few months? There server is probably better, and runs better....this server runs like someone is using a toaster as a server.....
I'd agree with Haydee there if it wasn't for me being banned from the chatroom. I still agree with ya, Haydee, this IS a good server. It just needs more patience with the moderators (Dirtburner, I hope you saw my other comment. Not an insult at you.). Also, more events would be nice.
Since I've been banned from the chatroom, my opinion of this server has lowered slightly, but not enough for me to leave permanently. I may start taking breaks from this server every now and then.
This is the only Starbound server I play on. Why?
It's incredibly open, and you can just drop in without filling out any forms, waiting for approval, or anything. Just take the quiz, and you're good to go! This makes it far easier, and a far more enjoyable experience, than having to apply. While you will have to fill out forms if you decide to play something other than one of the six core races (Which is possible to do with the right tools, by the way! Just look at the Accepted Races subforum), it's not needed if you plan on playing a vanilla race.
The RP is fun, and easy to get started. Head on down to the Horsebutt Saloon, and strike up a conversation with someone sitting at the bar! Bar full? You don't need to sit to talk!
While the server crashes more often then I would like, I'd rather it crash and have a good time just dropping in with a character, then wait forever just to be accepted to play.
Only complaint, really? Griefers. Can't do anything about the bad eggs though, they show up on nearly every server, even with applications.
All in all, I recommend Galaxy Citizen as a fun RP experience, even for newcomers to RP. I do NOT recommend it as a vanilla survival server, however.
I'd like to note that the security of a whitelist will always be beneficial.
Sure, some griefers may get through, but most don't and the ones that do get removed permanently.
A whitelist doesn't mean closed off or private, it means secure, safe, and protected.
Anyone can obtain a proxy and bypass a non-whitelisted server's ban, and that's why I think more servers should adopt whitelists. If whitelisting became standard, security would improved overall.
However, a whitelist won't work alone. It's important to have people around to manage it properly, and make sure that griefers don't get in and stay out. When working together, a whitelist and it's staff are a very powerful tool in ensuring a secure environment for all to partake and have fun in.
My main issue with whitelisted server is the fact you do have to fill out a form-a form that might not be accepted for various reasons (Some being personal bias on the acceptor)
I've had poor experiences with whitelisted servers, though, primarily with the person who accepted it. With a proper system, whitelists can be great. I also despise filling out forms, and only do so if it's optional to play- I'd rather be able to RP for a bit, get a feel for a character, before filling out a character sheet for them.
However, whitelists are not always the answer. Something I'd like to see (On pretty much any server) is a "Greylist". It allows people to join, talk, and play on the server, but how many packets they send is limited, and they cannot break blocks on protected worlds. This would significantly reduce grief, and still allow people to jump in and play, without filling out a massive form. Unfortunately, the multiplayer coding is awful and a wrapper that would allow this would probably cripple any server that averages 40+ members normally.
I am not doubting whitelists do protect more than a simple quiz-but if the people accepting applications are fucking up, then it's bad for everyone, speaking from personal experience on a different server that was recently shut down. The one person who would accept applications would accept horrid ones, then, slightly later, decline ones with better quality, grammar, etc, because the user "Wasn't mature enough". Their definition of maturity consisted of how old you were.
TL;DR: I don't like whitelists due to personal bias against filling out forms/how it could be messed up, and there are different options that could work...if provided the right tools to do so. Which, unfortunately, aren't available right now.
It's an exchange. A moment of your time and effort for the benefits the whitelist offers.
Certainly, sometimes those who maintain the whitelist are only human, and as we all know,
humans are complex emotional beings that may let unrelated situations influence their decision making.
However, that's why a proper policy needs to be in place. For example, no one approver should review
the same applicant twice, to help eliminate bias. If the applicant is becoming frustrated, perhaps they should
be able to speak with an administrator directly. An available FAQ on what is and isn't acceptable would also help.
As an advocate of whitelists, I'm very much in support of minimizing the obstacles that honest individuals must overcome to participate while keeping them high enough to stop the trolls and greifers.
Nothing made on our earth is perfect, and I suspect nothing will be for quite some time.
It's about what's worth it to you and every other player.
Invest in quality, and you shall receive quality. (Usually, depends on the community, of course.)
This is where I have to stop you. For the majority of forms I fill out, it takes me far longer than just "A Moment" to fill them out. No, not because I'm a slow writer, but because if I start writing, I won't stop until well over an hour has passed, and by then it's a rambling mess. Then I have to go back over, and rewrite it. Over and over, until I feel I've eliminated any chance of it being a "mary sue", "edgy" or whatever, and even then I still feel like I fail with that.
Obligatory forms are the bane of my existence. I can't just jump in and play a game with them. I can't just start a character and play. I have to write it down then. I can't get a feel for a character and then write. It's a pain. 9/10, if I have to write a profile before hand, how I play the character will not match up 100% with their personality.
And, once again, I bring up a greylist, which is something I've been pushing for on GC ever since I've heard of it. If it were possible for a wrapper to be made that wouldn't cripple the server, and would institute a greylist, I'd be all for it. You can drop in and play, but if you want to do certain things (Such as edit hubs), then you would have to apply. Hell, there's already somewhat of a greylist in the "Race" app forum, in the sense you need to apply to create a custom race.
I can already feel this has gotten way too long and I can't rewrite it because of a 4th of July party coming up.
Great server, provides huge freeform of roleplaying while still keeping a good level for everyone.
Rules are intelligent and, as opposed to all the other servers on the top5 list, rules exist for people, and not people for rules.
Server allows mods as long as they don't break the gameplay, which gives this server that special touch you cannot see anywhere else, I can safely say that all the best modders are playing here, which gives that special variety you cannot see anywhere else.
Ive tried most of the available RP servers and this one is definitely the best!
I am really disappointed.this server is full of mod users an cheaters and all that. even Boundstar is a lot better, and it keep crashing. I don't want to come back.I have a helmet that a cheater gave me, and I don't use it.I was just wearing it and somebody killed me in one shot.I was at spawn. This helmet provided 1000000000 health and I am never using it seriously.I do not recommend this server full of chaos.
I just found this server today thinking I might finally have discovered something good. Except for the fact after deciding what to role play as (a gun totting bandit no less) and finding a 'victim' to point a gun at I was summarily moved around like a puppet by an incredibly rude mod. 'Damn ruski' he said.
Well, firstly I am not a russian for starters and that rude comment was certainly out of context and not role played in the slightest.
Bandit with a gun does not mean griefer or inconsiderate player, one may care to remember that before moving people around, before they can even get a characterised comment out.
On closer inspection, this is hardly a role playing server as no one gives you a chance to find your niche. It also crashes every few minutes like a previous poster said and is highly unstable, though if the people were more polite then that May have not mattered so much.
Please pick your modmins better. At least find ones that give players a chance to role play before trolling them for being a newbie to the scene. What sort of atmosphere is being encourages here? I really can't tell.
At minimum, give people a chance to speak before you mess about with their character because you know... They might actually be role playing something.
